Selling and payouts
Charge once or by subscription. Buyers pay with Stripe Checkout, and Stripe pays the money out to your bank, less Inverse's fee.
Set up payouts
In /dev, under Get paid, choose Set up payouts. Inverse creates a Stripe Express account for you and sends you to Stripe to add your details and bank account. When you're done, Stripe sends you back to /dev.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Not set up | You haven't started. You can still set a price, but nobody can buy the app yet. |
| In review | Stripe needs more details or is checking them. People who try to buy see “The developer hasn't finished setting up payouts”. |
| Ready | Stripe can pay you. Buyers can check out once this Inverse server has a Stripe key; until then Buy and Connect are hidden. |
Open Stripe dashboard signs you in to your Express dashboard, where you can see your balance, payouts and bank details.
Fees
Inverse keeps 10% of each sale on the Free plan and 5% on Pro and Team. Stripe's processing fee is separate. Your plan at the time of the sale sets the fee: for a subscription, Inverse takes the same share of every renewal.
| A $10.00 sale | Inverse's fee | Sent to your Stripe balance |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $1.00 | $9.00 |
| Pro | $0.50 | $9.50 |
| Team | $0.50 | $9.50 |
Refunds and disputes
Inverse is the seller of record, so buyers see Inverse on their receipt. A full refund or a dispute takes away the buyer's access. When a refund is issued, it reverses your share of the sale and returns Inverse's fee, so you don't pay for a sale you didn't keep.
